What we process
Everything you type into the invoice or quote generator (business names, addresses, line items, amounts, notes) is processed entirely in your web browser. It is never transmitted to our servers or to any third party. The PDF is generated on your own device.
If you create a share link, the document is packed into the part of the link after the # sign. Browsers do not send that part to the web server, so the document reaches only the people you give the link to. The logo is left out of share links.
What is stored on your device
So you can pick up where you left off and keep track of what you have sent, InvoiceSnap keeps the following in your browser, on your own device. None of it is sent to us and we cannot read it.
- Drafts. The document you are working on, one per document type (invoice, quote and proforma invoice), in local storage. It is saved as you type.
- Your invoices.Every document you download is kept in full in your browser's IndexedDB database: your details and your client's name and address, line items, amounts, notes and logo, together with the sent or paid status you set. This list also fills the client and item suggestions and the outstanding totals. The short history list that earlier versions kept in local storage is moved into it.
- Preferences. The clients and items you pinned, the currencies you used recently and the date of your last backup, in local storage.
- Quote to invoice. When you turn a quote or a proforma invoice into an invoice, the document is handed to the invoice generator through session storage and removed as soon as the invoice generator has opened it, or when you close the tab.
How to delete it
- The Clear button in the generator empties the form and deletes the saved draft of that document type.
- Clear all on this device, under Your invoices, deletes the saved documents, the pinned clients and items, the recent currencies and the backup date. Drafts stay until you clear them. If you want to keep your documents, download a backup first: it is a file that stays with you.
- Clearing your browser's site data for invoicesnap.net removes all of the above at once.
Advertising and cookies
InvoiceSnap may show display advertising served by third-party networks (such as Google AdSense) to help cover the cost of running the site for free. When ads are active, those networks can set cookies or use similar technologies on your device to show relevant ads, measure performance and limit how often you see the same ad.
If you visit from the EEA, the UK or another region with similar rules, you will be asked for consent through an on-screen banner before any personalized ads or non-essential cookies are set. You can decline and still use the invoice and quote generator in full. None of this affects the data described above: what you type into the generator is never sent anywhere, so it is never used to serve you ads.
Hosting
The site is served as static pages by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel may keep standard, short-lived server logs (such as IP address and requested URL) to operate and secure the service. See the Vercel privacy policy for details. No invoice content ever appears in those logs, because invoice content is never sent over the network.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, for example when advertising is turned on, adjusted or turned off, the updated version will be published on this page.
